Exploring How I Edit

Today was a perfect day for surfers with big waves, clear skies, and bright sun. So naturally, I went out to take some photos of the sport.

Once I got home and sat down to edit I came upon a dilemma, how to edit these action-packed shots. I wanted to give the photos an edit that emphasized the awesomeness of surfing, but at the same time, I wanted to edit them in my style. I decided to edit both ways because one of my favorite aspects of photography is stepping out of my comfort zone.

The first photos (high contrast & saturated) convey the drama and excitement that I felt watching the surfers ride the waves. The second set of photos (stylized) follow my editing style, a more subdued edit with less intensity.
